This painting depicts the Old Train Depot built between 1904-1905. It was often referred to as “Union Station at Decatur.” The train station was operated by the Southern Railway and the north-south Louisville and Nashville (L&N) railroad. The Depot functioned as a passenger station until 1979. Two United States Presidents, William McKinley and Franklin Roosevelt stopped here, as well as Elvis Presley.
